On February 9th, 2018 I learned a valuable lesson, not everyone is here to drain the swamp. To drain the swamp means to keep mosquito populations low to combat malaria, but in America it is to drain the swamp of our corrupt government on both sides. In a press release from Donald Trump on October 17 he pledged to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C., he then tweeted “I will Make Our Government Honest Again-believe me. But First, I’m going to have to #DrainTheSwamp.” ()
I have taken the same pledge. I will drain the swamp of snakes, alligators, mosquito’s, and any other swamp creature lurking in the shadows. To take this metaphor into reality I want to remove corrupt politicians in office and those running for office. My organization, Majority Next has actively been working to shut down the Mueller witch hunt. This is just an example of the corruption we need to get rid of. If we are actively draining the swamp, then why would we elect swamp creatures? But how do I Drain the Swamp and still Lead with Love?
I have taken time to think about the Swamp Creatures. I have asked the advice of my colleagues, friends, and family. I have spoken to many of you on social media and of course I have prayed about it. I could write this long article full of “dirt” on Republican candidates with undeniable evidence to prove what I’m saying (Text messages, Images, Court Documents, FEC filings) is factual and not #FakeNews that the candidate(s) will try and tell you. I have gone back and forth because I don’t want the voters voting for the wrong Republican Candidate but at what point do I become a gossiper. What if this candidate or these candidates win, and I knew how corrupt they were, and I didn’t say anything? But when I try to say something I’m immediately called out by those that want “just any Republican” in office as a “shill for the left” a “never Trumper”. My character is immediately attacked, my name being smeared because I just want the truth out. Just because you have an R by your name doesn’t mean you are the right candidate.
I even took a poll on Twitter!
If the left went crazy over Rob Porter, imagine what they will do with a candidate who is on probation for antics like his. Roy Moore’s name was destroyed, and they had no evidence! Candidates today, I have seen the evidence! They will lose, they will embarrass our party, and Democrats will continue in those seats because people want “just any republican”.
I turned to the Bible. The Bible warns us about spreading gossip, but the definition of gossip is speaking about another person with statements that are false or yet unproven. In Exodus the bible says, “Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.” If I am speaking the truth, even though it’s not pleasant, does that make me a “malicious witness”? I turn to myself and remember that I want to lead with love. That I am motivated by love. I must choose my words carefully and thoughtfully. I must choose words that speak to build up, encourage, and strengthen. Speaking the truth doesn’t have to include tactless, critical comments just because they are true. I can speak the truth in LOVE. I can build up those candidates I endorse. I can encourage them, give them strength, and know that God will take care of those who are deceitful. The Lord hates haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, and one who sows discord among brothers. For these people do not truly serve our Lord in Christ, but their own selfish appetites and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive our hearts. We have been warned and we must open our eyes and “beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
I ask you to trust and get behind the candidates that I endorse for the upcoming elections. I ask you to know that the candidates I endorse are not corrupt and our worthy of your support. These candidates are in support of the MAGA movement and 100% loyal to Trump. Wee won’t be electing another swamp creature into office. I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield.
